Welcome to the first official send of Popsugar Beauty's new newsletter, The Beauty Breakdown. This idea has been floating around for quite some time now, but I'm so happy to finally see it come to life. We know you get a lot of these letters in your inbox these days, and we want to make sure we're here for you with our feel-good take as well. Recently, I've found myself scrolling Substack and my inbox more than I've been opening TikTok, which is really saying something. My hope is that this newsletter offers you the same kind of reprieve from your usual mindless (or doom) scroll. It's the beginning of a new month, which means our beauty editors have a list of new products that we're obsessed with and think you might be too. From a body and hair mist that smells like the beach to a dual-ended mascara that offers two products for the price of one, shop our obsessions below. |

| Jennifer Aniston made the Rachel the hottest haircut of the '90s thanks to "Friends," but her new curve cut is equally as flattering — if not more. |

| I know, I know, August just started. But by the time this month rolls around, I usually start to get the itch for the chill of fall. (Polarizing statement, I know.) If you can relate, then you may want to browse Lush's 2025 Halloween collection, which just launched. |

| Raise your hand if you're excited for "The Devil Wears Prada 2." I've been eating up all the photos from the sequel's filming in NYC, like this first look at Emily Blunt's reprisal of Emily Charlton, complete with the character's signature red hair.

| In today's column, staff writer and social producer Renee Rodriguez tests a celebrity-approved contouring hack. |

True confession: I spend an ungodly amount of time on TikTok. I've seen it all when it comes to beauty hacks: banana peels being touted as a retinol alternative, hemorrhoid cream for undereyes, but one of the coolest tricks I've picked up — and actually tested — is using lip liner to contour my entire face. The hack has been circulating on TikTok for over a year, but it re-emerged recently when Hailey Bieber posted a video of herself using her Rhode Peptide Lip Shape ($24) across her lips, cheeks, forehead, and nose. I'm all for a no-makeup makeup look, and I genuinely love hacks that are easy and effortless, so I just had to try this one out. Find out how it worked ahead. — Renee Rodriguez |
