This week, I’m obsessed with being an outfit repeater. In my mind, there are two kinds of people in the world. People who are constantly debuting new outfits and the people who find an outfit and wear it until the wheels fall off. I am firmly the latter. Do I wish I could be one of those cool TikTok girls who is adventurous with their clothes? The type of girl who wears color? Sometimes, for sure.
Every time I have a date, or a work event, or a trip, I always tell myself it’s going to be the time I discover a brand new outfit formula. I dream big, people. I scroll on Pinterest. I even occasionally buy things that are completely not my style. In the end, I somehow end up wearing just a slightly different version of something I’ve already worn before. Something I’m always wearing, to be exact. (It’s baggy jeans and a black top, if you’re wondering.)
I see nothing wrong with wearing an outfit over, and over, and over, and over. And over. In sports (yes, I know about sports), when a player is killing it, do they bench the player? No. They keep them in the game. And that’s what I’m doing with my outfits. I’m giving them prime time, people. It’s what they deserve.
And to anyone who has a problem with outfit repeating, let me just remind you, Lizzie McGuire said it best when she said, “Maybe I’m an outfit repeater, but you’re an outfit rememberer — which is just as pathetic.”
Double Dog Dare You: This weekend, wear the same outfit two days in a row. I don’t care if it’s cute, or if it’s pajamas. It’s freeing, trust me.
