I don't dye my hair or shop online habitually, nor do I really drink or spend money on fast food, but I will forever justify getting my nails done professionally every three to four weeks. I'm a die-hard medium-length, almond, builder-gel girl through and through. Even though I stick to the same few shades when I go, I love looking at the latest trends. I find nails to be the easiest form of beauty experimentation, and the possibilities are seemingly endless. If you feel the same, you have come to the right place.
To see what the experts are predicting to be hot this year, keep reading.
Milky Sheer Nails
Milky tones have been on-trend for a few years now, with modern takes on "milk-bath" nails sweeping Hollywood and salons around the country — and that's not changing anytime soon. "Milky sheer shades and natural finishes feel clean, soft, and comforting — perfect if you want something minimal but still polished," says professional international nail artist Olha Shtanhei.
Chocolate and Berry Shades
There's a time and a place for candy-apple red manicures, but if you want something a little different, opt for muted berry shades. "They add depth and warmth while still feeling soft and wearable," says Shtanhei.
For the transition period from winter to spring, and later this year in the fall, expect to see chocolate brown tones. "They're rich and chic without being too bold, which makes them a great alternative to black," says Shtanhei.
American Manicures
French manicures are an ever-popular choice at the salon, but for an upgrade, try the "American" manicure. Rather than a harsh smile line, this tip effortlessly blends into the base color for a timeless and subtle design.
Lip Gloss Nails
Selena Gomez's manicurist, Tom Bachik, recently created lip-gloss nails on the actor. "Sel loves this shade because it's like a bubblegum blush lip gloss for the nails. Sheer, but still bright baby pink."
Bachik predicts this will be a huge trend for spring and summer. "Nudes will still be milky sheer but have brighter, more intense undertones."
Ribbed Glass Nails
Last but certainly not least, ribbed-glass nails — also known as "fluted-glass" nails — are a fun and unexpected trend for 2026. The look combines the reflective, glossy finish of classic glass nails with subtle vertical ridges.
You can get the look in any color, but the design particularly shines with jewel tones.
