I'm not saying I believe in TikTok tarot readings — but I'm also not not saying that. If you haven't scrolled past one of these readings yet, they're like horoscopes, except instead of skimming a paragraph that talks about things that may or may not vaguely resemble your life, you have a person on your phone screen under the halo glow of a ring light, staring directly into your soul, delivering a message like it's divine instruction. They usually start off by saying, "If you're seeing this, this message is for you."
If a stranger on my For You Page pulls a card and confidently announces something along the lines of "someone from your past is thinking about you" or "love is coming," I'm sat. I'm listening intently. I'm spiritually aligned.
However, if that same reading suggests I need to let go, move on, or change something I really don't want to, I scroll away faster than you can say "manifest." Discernment is key, and I am nothing if not spiritually selective.
Either way, there's something oddly comforting about the way these readings find you exactly when you're bored, spiraling, or lying in bed thinking about something you shouldn't be. The readings are typically short, emotionally validating, and perfectly timed by the algorithm. And if the TikTok algorithm wants to play the role of the universe, who am I to argue?
Well, unless I don't agree, that is.
But this weekend, I dare you to be your own tarot card reader. Pick the version of the weekend you want — and behave like it's fate. (And if anything wild happens, please keep me posted!)
