Here's what everyone is talking about in the beauty world, broken down in one quick digest by Popsugar's assistant shopping editor, Naomi Parris. |

Hey, everyone! It's Popsugar assistant shopping editor Naomi Parris, taking over The Beauty Breakdown today for Jessica. Congratulations, you've officially made it through "circle-back week." And for that reason alone, you deserve a beauty appointment (or two) . . . so get to booking! But first, one quick update: Popsugar has a lot of exciting beauty projects coming up this year and we'll be sharing them all in this newsletter in a new cadence: once a week, on Wednesdays. Don't worry, we'll still deliver all your favorite content from exclusive deals to "Hype Check" editor experiments in that weekly send. Now that that's out of the way: hopefully, by this point, you've gotten into a bit of a groove with resuming real life (AKA work). But that doesn't mean your beauty routine should suffer. Take an extra ten minutes in the morning to do an LED mask or book yourself a weekly facial (Glowbar has very affordable options less than $100). A makeup lover? Do a fun glam routine. A skincare fanatic? Unwind with a nighttime moisturizer. Obsessed with hair hacks? Apply an aloe mask. Why? Because you deserve. Personally, I love using my HigherDOSE mask while reading and, gasp, going outside to the nail salon on a Saturday morning — it's down the block from my house, so why not? But in all seriousness, there's a gratifying feeling that comes from investing in your beauty routine. When you look good, you really do feel good. For more inspo that will make you feel good, keep scrolling. |

In today's column, senior staff writer Renee Rodriguez tries the TikTok-viral "Topanga" haircut.

Ever since coloring my hair this summer, I've noticed that my ends look dry and frizzy almost constantly. I've been using hair masks and a few treatments off and on that have helped, but ultimately, I knew what I really needed was a cut. When figuring out which one would be best for me, after doing hours of research, I settled on the "Topanga." Yes, it's a haircut named after Topanga Lawrence from "Boy Meets World," and yes, it did go viral on TikTok. It typically features a mid-length cut roughly five inches below the collarbone, with lots of layers. I have fine hair, so it's usually a hit or miss when it comes to layers for me. Sometimes they look great, other times — not so much. This hairstyle, however, gave me lots of bounce and movement without sacrificing too much length. Ahead, read about my experience getting the Topanga cut, and find out whether or not this style would work for you. — Renee Rodriguez |
