Don't get me wrong: we love a good matching set. But something about going on a non-aesthetic run has been hitting differently for Popsugar editors. When health and fitness staff writer Chandler Plante asked our editors to share their own non-aesthetic confessions, they did not disappoint. Take this as full permission to run in whatever the hell works for you.
Here's what our staffers had to say:
"For some reason, my aesthetic brain shuts off when it comes to running, going to the gym, and taking Pilates classes, and I reach for the comfiest, most functional things in my closet." — Lena Felton, Senior Director, Special Projects
"The necessity of pockets for my phone and keys (I'm a belt hater) and a thin, lightweight sock is literally mandatory for stabilizing my stride — so whatever that looks like, even if it's ugly, sign me up." — Sarah Wasilak, Shopping Director
"I feel like some people look very cool wearing a hydration vest. I have not mastered that skill, but I'll take looking functional and hydrated." — Genevieve Farrell, Director of Fitness and Wellness Video
"I accepted long ago that I'm simply not a cute workout-set girlie, and I don't think I'll ever be. And I'm confident in knowing myself, at least." — Lena Felton, Senior Director, Special Projects
