Every holiday season, I try to be intentional about where I spend my money. Over the past few years, I've prioritized getting a lot of my everyday staples — skin care, body care, spices, even home essentials — from Latine-owned brands that very much deserve our dollars. Supporting these businesses means investing directly in our communities, our cultura, and the entrepreneurs behind them.
But let's be real: as someone who's always on the go, I can't always wait a week for shipping. Sometimes, especially during the holidays, I need things quickly — and that's where Amazon comes in.
Sin vergüenza, I'll admit: shopping on Amazon makes my life much easier. And what I've learned is that there are actually way more Latine-owned small businesses on Amazon than most people realize.
This year, I'm making it a priority to shop intentionally on Amazon by choosing Latine-owned brands whenever I can. I also want to share a few of my go-to essentials that cover every aspect of my holiday season — from cooking to gifting to beauty.
Every year, I host at least one holiday dinner party, and cooking with Latin seasoning is a nonnegotiable for me. I especially love cooking with clean, organic Latin spices from brands like Loisa and Pisqueya, which provide authentic flavors with high-quality ingredients.
The holidays also mean a lot of gatherings and photos, so my curls have to be on point. One of my go-to curly brands is Ocoa, a Dominican-owned curly hair brand I swear by. Their curl cream is chef's kiss for keeping my rizos healthy, defined, and holiday ready.
Because I'm also a beauty girl through and through, on Amazon, I love ordering my Latina-owned beauty products from brands like Luna Magic and Reina Rebelde. For skin care, Tata Harper is one of my favorite brands for luxe, Latina-owned clean beauty (my go-to is the Calming Crème, which keeps my super-sensitive skin hydrated and soothed all fall and winter long).
The holidays can be overstimulating, so I also make sure to carve out moments of peace. Every morning, I meditate — and I like to spiritually protect my space with palo santo. My favorite is Luna Sundara's Palo Santo, which is sustainably sourced and beautifully packaged.
I love that with Amazon Prime, I don't have to think twice about convenience — I get fast, free shipping on the things I need, including same-day and one-day delivery on millions of eligible items. Beyond that, there are year-round low prices across more than 35 categories, exclusive deal events, and so many extras. Prime sets me up for the holidays and gives me value in more ways than one.
'Tis the season pa' ahorrar! I also appreciate how Amazon helps me stretch my budget during the holiday season. That means more regalos for friends and fam and treats for me — like with the beauty buys and my organic Latin spices — so that hosting gatherings is as easy and seamless as it can possibly be.
If you, like me, are trying to be intentional with your holiday shopping this year, I highly recommend checking out these incredible Latine-owned brands on Amazon.
Did you know that more than 60% of sales in Amazon's store come from independent sellers, providing a vast selection of products, competitive prices, and great convenience for customers?
Shopping intentionally doesn't always mean sacrificing convenience. This season, you can get things on time, support small businesses, and pour back into our communities at amazon.com/apoyapequeña.
