Khloé Kardashian and "Bachelor" alum Rachael Kirkconnell aren't the only ones who haven't had sex in years. There's an entire contingent of mostly straight women who have stopped having sex, and are turning the idea of the "dry spell" on its head.
Some women have chosen to stop having sex with men for political reasons. After the repeal of Roe v. Wade in 2022 and the election of a convicted sexual abuser to the presidency last November, women across the US have decided to "boycott men," echoing Korea's 4B Movement, fueled by rage and a genuine fear of the potential consequences of an unwanted pregnancy.
But that's not the only reason some women aren't having sex. Others are simply . . . not feelin' it. They're self-described "lover girls" who need more than just a pretty face to turn them on — they need intimacy; passion. And they need to know the person they're sleeping with is a decent human being. Unfortunately, if you only sleep with men in the year 2025, that's not always so easy to find. Think of all the young men and boys who have been taught to embrace a "politics of cruelty." The resulting disparity between young men and women when it comes to not just political beliefs but social values means there are fewer and fewer viable sexual partners for straight women who want anything more than the absolute bare minimum. Turns out, "empathy is a sin!" doesn't exactly make for the hottest pickup line. So this one goes out to all the lover girls — and keep scrolling for more stories about why, for some people, partnered sex just isn't everything.
