Life as an NFL broadcaster can be overwhelming: busy schedules, lots of travel, and tons of opinions. Plus, if you're a woman, you're likely the only one in a room full of men who don't always understand what you're going through. This is one of the reasons Erin Andrews says she keep her cervical cancer diagnosis a secret back in 2017. "It was really hard. I kept it quiet when I was dealing with cancer because it was cervical cancer. It was a very personal cancer," Andrews tells Popsugar. "I work with a lot of men. I didn't want to be talking about the Ravens's defense and my cervix at the dinner table." Now, almost 10 years later, Andrews is speaking out unapologetically and advocating for others to get checked. After all, it was early detection that changed the trajectory of her experience with the disease. Without it, "it could have been much worse in my life. I mean, we could have been talking about really a different path here," Andrews says. |
