Does anyone else get the strongest itch to shop when the seasons change? In the coming weeks, I'll be sharing tips in this newsletter for transitioning your beauty routines from summer to fall, but in the meantime, I have some exciting shopping news. Nordstrom's Fall Savings Event is happening now, and it's the perfect time to stock up. If you don't know what to shop for, allow me to help. Here are some of my personal favorite items on sale: The L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil ($25, originally $29) smells amazing and makes your skin so soft. For makeup, the Dior Diorshow 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes ($61, originally $72) are stunning and make the best gifts, and the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow Sticks ($29, originally $34) are my go-to for throwing together a pretty eye look. I also recently had my makeup done by celebrity makeup artist Alex Rutkovskiy, and he got me hooked on the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Love Trap ($22, originally $26) — it's a stunning color for fall. Last but not least, one of my all-time favorite hair products, the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($44, originally $52), is discounted. Ahead, you'll find more recommendations for the best beauty deals. |

In today's column, Popsugar beauty section lead Jessica Harrington tries the viral micellar water dry shampoo hack.

As someone who's always had very dark hair, I have a love-hate relationship with dry shampoo. Sure, there are a few solid dry shampoos for dark hair, but I'm always on the hunt for something better. That's why when I saw a content creator using micellar water as dry shampoo to dry-cleanse her hair, I wanted to try it immediately. In the clip, she used micellar water on a cotton pad and dabbed it onto her hairline where she had some sweat and oil — nowhere in this routine was there any powder or spray dry shampoo. In the end, her hair looked good as new, and because she has dark brown-black hair like me, I trusted her expertise on the matter. I struggle with keeping my hair clean between wash days because I work out four to five times a week, so I was down to give this hair hack a try. Read more to hear how it went. — Jessica Harrington |
