Every year, the US Open brings a flood of tennis whites, Honey Deuce, and celebrity paparazzi shots to my Instagram feed. The sports event is like a who's who of New York City, and in the subsequent weeks, people wear their US Open hats like a badge of honor, as if to say to passersby, "Look, I was there!" I don't mean any shade by this. I've personally attended the star-studded event for the past two years and came this close to buying one of those hats myself. This year, the event brought more than just nail-biting tennis matches. Coco Gauff's 3D manicure, complete with tiny tennis balls and ruffly skirts, was an absolutely must-see detail that you likely missed while watching her 100 mph serve. Her manicurist, Isa Bone, told us the set took two hours to complete. "The inspo behind [Gauff's] look was her outfit," Bone tells us. "I wanted to implement a small 3D tennis ball and a 3D ruffled tennis skirt. The other fingers have a maroon color to match her top and jacket, and I airbrushed green to match the tennis balls." Keep reading to see the best of tenniscore beauty at the US Open. |

I Tested TikTok's Red Nail Theory on a Month of Dates
|
I'm back together with my ex-boyfriend (again), but earlier this year, while I was still single, I decided to test out something I had been seeing all over TikTok: the red nail theory. If you haven't heard of it, allow me to explain. It's essentially TikTok's claim that red nail polish somehow makes you more attractive to men.
I had my reservations: to start, I'm a neutral nails gal through and through, and I've had red nails in the past, but I couldn't remember any men clamoring to date me. However, TikTok users were firm in their belief that red nails would find me my husband — or at least a boyfriend — so I decided to try them out for a full month.
Ahead, I detail how the dates went and whether men actually flocked to me while I was sporting red nails. Spoiler alert: my experience might just convince you to try it. |
