Taylor Swift's Engagement Manicure and Ring Are Classic

Here's what everyone is talking about in the beauty world, broken down in one quick digest by Popsugar Beauty's section lead Jessica Harrington. I'm sure you've seen the news: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged after two years of dating. It happened in a rose-filled garden. Swift wore a striped Ralph Lauren dress and Kelce got down on one knee with an old mine brilliant-cut diamond from Artifex Fine Jewelry. In keeping with the singer's minimal aesthetic, she had a "naked" manicure that allowed her ring to really shine.  This got me thinking about engagement nails in general. When I got engaged in 2023, my now-husband enlisted the help of my two best friends to ensure my nails were done for the occasion. I visited celebrity manicurist Julie Kandalec for a simple BIAB manicure in a milky white color. When Selena Gomez and producer Benny Blanco got engaged in 2024, Gomez went for "rich girl" nails — as did Winnie Harlow when her partner, NBA basketball star Kyle Kuzma, got down on one knee. Earlier this year, when Zendaya announced her engagement to Marvel star Tom Holland on the Golden Globes red carpet, she did so with pink "strawberry milk" nails.
