If your For You page looks anything like mine, you've likely come across Hope Walz's funny, honest, and very Midwestern-coded TikTok videos. In the past few months following the presidential election, the 24-year-old daughter of Tim Walz has turned her TikTok into a place of solace and, yes, hope, for folks mourning the Democrats' loss and angered by the Trump administration's actions.
She's racked up almost 400,000 followers, sharing her favorite skin care, days in the life, and glimpses of her family — including her parents making their famous caramel corn recipe. But she's also not afraid to call out the president and his administration for their anti-trans policies, cuts to national park services, and hateful rhetoric.
While she may not identify as an influencer, she tells PS in an exclusive interview, "I've quickly come to learn that I do have influence." We chatted with the social worker and ski instructor about how she uses her platform for good, how to move forward under this administration, whether she'll ever follow in her father's footsteps, and how she carves out joy in her life. (Spoiler alert: Bravo helps!)
