10 Products That Make Nature More Accessible For These Adventurers There are many misconceptions when it comes to disabilities and the outdoors. People assume disabled people never go outside, but the reality is that disabled people are everywhere and in every space. The disability community has a lot of expertise on a variety of outdoor activities and experiences — and great gear recommendations to match.   For PS's All Access issue, the team caught up with seven disabled adventurers to learn what they use to make nature more accessible. Here's a preview of just a few products that made the list, from surf wear to hiking gear. Rip Curl E-Bomb 3mm Split-Toe Booties ($70) When Cienna Ditri first became a wheelchair user, she didn't know if she'd ever surf again. But after being introduced to para surfing, she was back out on the waves. Since Ditri doesn't have feeling in her feet, she uses these neoprene booties to protect them and provide grip in the water. Osprey Tempest 20 Hiking Backpack ($160) Sofia Webster, an Ecuadorian American woman living with Lyme disease, says this backpack offers great back support and has a handy loop to keep her hiking poles in — which is particularly helpful for her chronic pain. Plus, it has many useful attachments, like an external water reservoir sleeve. GCI Outdoor Freestyle Rocker Camp Chair ($70) Heather Penny, a two-spirit disabled parent of the Cherokee Nation, says this camp chair is a "game changer for pain management." It's supportive, sturdy, and delivers a smooth rocking motion that allows for ultimate relaxation at camp.
