I recently interviewed CoverGirl ambassador Kelsea Ballerini, and after hearing her gush about the products she loves from the brand, I decided to take a few of them for a spin. The one I fell in love with that surprised me the most was the CoverGirl Lash Blast Cleantopia Ultramarine Mascara ($14). It's one of the best mascaras I've tested all year, but I wasn't fully sold until I swiped it on my lashes and saw the results.
The first time I opened this tube of mascara, I saw it was blue. I went to read about the product on the packaging, only to learn that although it looked blue, it would end up being black. I was a bit concerned, as I usually only wear the blackest mascara I can find on my already-dark lashes. However, I ended up loving the final result. It won't make your lashes look blue, but there is a subtle hint of the hue, so your eyelashes won't look as dark as if you were wearing jet-black mascara. I love the effect it has, but it's something to note.
The CoverGirl Lash Blast Cleantopia Ultramarine Mascara separated, lengthened, and added volume to my lashes with just a few swipes, and the tint of blue, while barely noticeable, actually looked great. It also didn't clump or cause fallout throughout the night, so it's safe to say this mascara has earned a permanent spot in my makeup bag.
