Hey Sis,
We're excited to announce the launch of Girls United, Essence's brand new platform for Generation Z women!
So, here's the scoop. The site is split up into six sections, which are FLAWLESS (beauty), SNATCHED (wellness), GET LIT (education/literacy), BO$$Y (entrepreneurship), GET REAL (love/relationships), and FLOSSY (creativity). We'll be sharing insights into beauty trends, talking about the power of self love, helping you stay up to date on political happenings, teaching you how to get your money right, chatting about love, dropping the deets on fashion and more. Lit, right?
You should definitely check out the live introduction (as well as poppin' stories from our editor!) to each category below.
Okay, so boom. In addition to the exclusive content we'll be sharing on our site, we're also introducing our Magic Unfiltered podcast! Magic Unfiltered is where we'll speak with a variety of guests and encourage listeners to explore themselves. Check out the first episode here.
Oh, y'all thought we were finished? Nah.
Girls United is ALSO dropping Behind the Magic, our video series where we'll share honest stories about the talented, hardworking women who embody the phrase "Black Girl Magic". We know that you all want the details about how the magic happens, and we're here to deliver.
Last, but not least, today is the beginning of Black Girls Shaking Things Up, our campaign dedicated to the Black girls who push for change. We're working with dope women like Yara Shahidi, Teyana Taylor and Rico Nasty, and encouraging everyone to tell a story about a time when they created a change in their life/community. Got a story? Share it on Instagram and Twitter, use the hashtag #ShakingThingsUp, and be sure to tag us, too!
We're so excited to have you be a part of this incredible journey - thanks for rocking with us!
